Born: October 19, 1940, Cabra, Ireland
Died: September 28, 2023, Witham, United Kingdom
Sir Michael Gambon CBE was a multi-award-winning Irish-British actor.
An original member of the Royal National Theatre, he was most notable for his stage work but became a Hollywood favourite later on in his career.
He will be remembered most fondly for his portrayal of the kind-hearted Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series of films.
Here is the SUFFOLK GAZETTE’s unique tribute to him in Haiku form…
Gambon’s stage did glow,
Dumbledore’s magic did flow,
Heaven’s stage awaits.
Stupefy!
